MAIN INGREDIENTS FOR ONE POT RICE COOKER SOY MISO SALMON RICE
Salmon – The star of the dish, salmon provides a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids and protein. It cooks perfectly in the rice cooker, becoming tender and flaky, while absorbing the savory flavors of the miso and soy sauce. No need to marinate or cook it ahead of time, simply place in the rice cooker with the rest of the ingredients and you are good to go!
Rice – Jasmine rice is used here for its fluffy texture and aromatic qualities. It pairs beautifully with the umami-rich sauce and vegetables, making it a perfect base for the dish. You can also use other types of rice if you don’t have jasmine rice on hand or simply prefer a different one.
Edamame – Edamame is one of my go-to ingredients for this dish, not just because I love its slightly sweet taste and firm texture, but also for the boost of plant-based protein it offers. It adds a wonderful contrast to the softness of the rice and tender salmon, making the dish more balanced in both flavor and nutrition.
Vegetables – This dish is highly versatile when it comes to the veggies. You can use mushrooms, carrots, and corn as suggested, but feel free to swap in other vegetables like bell peppers, spinach, or zucchini based on your preferences or what’s in your fridge.
Miso Paste– The main sauce ingredient for this dish. Miso paste adds depth to the sauce with its savory, umami-rich flavor. It also enhances the healthiness of the dish, as miso is rich in essential minerals and probiotics.
Soy Sauce – Soy sauce brings a salty, umami kick to the dish, balancing the sweetness of the vegetables and the richness of the salmon. Combined with miso, it creates a robust and flavorful sauce that ties all the ingredients together.
